Sean Williams: Working for Dacula
Election November 7
Hello, I am Sean Williams, and I am seeking re-election to the Dacula City Council to continue my service to the citizens of Dacula. I am here to serve our citizens and have no ambitions for higher political office. Dacula City Council is a non-partisan position, and those on council serve all Dacula citizens equally regardless of political party or other affiliation. We consider all our residents in every decision we make. I have been blessed to be able to serve on council, and I am asking for your vote to continue the work we have begun during my initial term. I look forward to being able to continue to serve if I am so blessed.
Re-Elect Sean for Dacula City Council

A proven record
Working for Dacula
Road and Bridge Improvements at Winder Highway and Harbins/Dacula Rd intersection
Installation of a traffic light signal at Harbins Rd and Tanner Rd to improve school bus and commuter safety
Repaved roads and installed or replaced pedestrian sidewalks in local neighborhoods
Improved stormwater run-off and drainage in multiple areas throughout the City
Resolved longstanding flooding problem at the intersection of Winder Highway, MacMillan Rd, and Church St
Resolved flooding issue on both Mobley Dr and Tanner Rd
Brought broadband internet connectivity to unserved areas of Dacula
Maple Creek Park improvements (currently underway)
Overhauled Recycling program to improve service and save money (Saved over $80,000 taxpayer dollars by bringing our Recycling program in-house to improve customer service and lower recycling costs)
Updated massage parlor ordinances to reduce the opportunity of human trafficking in Dacula
When the Gwinnett Tax Commissioner added new fees for collecting taxes, we moved to collect taxes ourselves and save taxpayer funds
Did not allow COVID protocols to prevent service delivery to the people of Dacula
We have accomplished all of this without raising the millage rate. The City of Dacula has maintained or lowered the millage rate for the past seven years.
Further, please note that we protect tax dollars by utilizing local, State, and Federal Grants, endowment funds, and SPLOST dollars for all capital projects. By doing this we can protect tax dollars and keep the millage rate at a lower rate.
In fact, this year we are rolling back the city millage rate to give our residents some relief in the face of continued high property valuations from Gwinnett County. We have had a balanced budget every year. I am committed to ensuring that we continue to be good stewards of taxpayer funds.
Priorities and Vision
Keep Dacula Safe
Smart Growth with Collaborative Vision & Planning
Traffic solutions / Make existing intersections more efficient
Fiscal Responsibility
Limited Government and Government Accountability
Common Sense
Efficient Business Friendly Government
I am a North Georgia native. My family and I have lived in Dacula for the past 27 years. I have seen a lot of change in that time and growth continues to come our way. I believe we can grow in a way that avoids the out-of-control growth we have seen in other metro cities. Growth for the sake of growth is bad policy and should be avoided. I care deeply about Dacula and its residents. I believe we can strike a balance between future growth and quality of life. Dacula has been called a city of homes, and I want to continue to work toward maintaining that reputation and the quality of life that has drawn so many of our residents here. With my experience on Dacula City Council and commitment to the community, I along with my fellow council members, have delivered tangible results, and I will continue to work tirelessly for Dacula if re-elected. It would be an honor to continue to serve the citizens of Dacula.
About Sean Williams
I am foremost a servant of Christ and all else is secondary to that. My faith informs my roles in life and not the other way around. My family and I have called Dacula home for over 27 years. After my faith, my family has always been my top priority. My children grew up here. They attended and graduated from Dacula schools. While they are all now grown, they all live in Dacula or close by, and I am lucky to be able to still spend a lot of time with them. I have worked in Information Technology for the past 30+ years working as an Information Technology Officer and Information Security Officer. I hold various top-level certifications in the Information Security field including Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Certified Hacking and Forensics Investigator (CHFI). I am a proud alumnus of Gwinnett Technical College, and I believe strongly in career-focused education that teaches specific skillsets. I am a member and serve at Restoration Presbyterian Church in the Hamilton Mill area, and have served in the past at 12Stone church as well. My career in business along with service at church has prepared me for service on the council. In my spare time, I love fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities.
